Hello Friends,
The winter season is almost here. And, I’m already thinking of some useful capsule wardrobe elements.
Currently, I’m updating my closet to fit in some pieces that would go well with different types of events. If you’re like me, and you work from home, you don’t have to worry about nine to five wardrobe.
But, what about if you have a meeting with a client or a potential collaborator? You still have to look presentable. How about if you have a date or are meeting friends for drinks after work? Or maybe your mother-in-law invited you for a weekend brunch.
Hmmm…what to wear then?
For this purpose, what I usually do is choose wardrobe elements that I would typically wear to the office.
Because I like convenience, I try to choose pieces that are classic, feminine, and “capsule-like,” meaning – interchangeable with other articles of clothing in my wardrobe.
Moreover, I prefer quality over quantity. That’s why I buy clothes that are well made and circulate the essential pieces. To me, a capsule wardrobe is fun, simple, and effortless! For example, I love the Geox brand for its modern, European design and excellent quality. They are pricy, but I’ve purchased things from them before, and their products last forever. Especially shoes!
Some of my favorite stores to shop for quality clothing are Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Neiman Marcus. Though, I genuinely miss Zara stores here in Charlotte, NC. We don’t even have one single shop!
When you put together a well-made capsule wardrobe, the pieces can be packed in a suitcase and taken with you on a trip. Think: smart and simple. The clothes can be worn interchangeably, provided you add essential elements of your own such as your favorite pants, jeans, skirt, shawls, and accessories such as hats.
In the winter, a colorful sweater or a beautiful cashmere shawl can transform an outfit instantly. By doing this, you are adding glamour and softness to your look. Don’t be afraid of color and white accents. Pair your outfits with an oversized bag, soft gloves, and fabulous sunglasses, and you’re good to go!
When in doubt, refer to the famous Coco Channel who used to say: “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”

OK, ladies – have fun creating a beautiful winter capsule wardrobe. And, let me know your favorite stores or where you shop these days.
