The art of drinking tea spans hundreds of years in history. But for me, it goes back to my childhood. When I was little, I lived in Europe, where we drank a lot of tea. Back then, everywhere you went, people were serving hot tea, even in the summer. Often with a slice of fresh lemon and sugar. It is still like this now. Nonetheless, tea, in any form, is still a comforting beverage to me.

Usually, I drink my tea with coconut sugar, which is a healthier alternative to white sugar. As such, I buy loose Earl Grey tea, my favorite kind, at a specialty store. Then, I drink my tea strong and have it during the afternoon. It is my extraordinary moment that cannot be interrupted, a personal celebration.

My second favorite tea is Thai iced tea. Whenever we visit our favorite Thai restaurant, I order it and drink it right after my meal. Because it’s so sweet, I treat it as a dessert. As usual, whenever I find something, I like to research on how to make it at home. So, I bought Thai tea, and once in a while, I brew it at home. I use organic cream and coconut sugar for a healthier version. But I only drink this treat once in a while because it’s so high in calories.

For easy Thai tea, recipe read up Eating Thai Food blog where it’s perfectly explained how to prepare this delicious drink.

Taking up a notch, last year, I purchased a kombucha culture, and now, we also have a large glass container of fermented black tea on our kitchen counter. My husband and I love to drink it all year long with lots of ice. Kombucha is easy to make; it is a natural probiotic and, it’s a refreshing beverage for any time of the day for adults or children.

And, last but not least, sometimes I brew a batch of raspberry leaf tea with mint and nettle leaf. I buy the herbal bulk supplies online and brew them in a specially designated French press, which I keep for brewing tea only. If I have any of the tea left, I store it in the fridge and drink it with honey.

There are other teas I drink less often, green tea, rooibos tea, lavender. As you can see, I am very much into the art of drinking tea.

How about you, do you like tea? What is your favorite tea?
